There were a lot, but we watched them all.
We narrowed it down to the top 58 first but it was still really hard to decide.
As it was hard to pick only 10..We picked 15 winners!
Winning videos were evaluated on vocal ability,performance,video quality,sound quality,overall impact/creativity,the pillows fan love,and whether we just plain liked it.
For those who just missed the cut off, we'll still be announcing them as honorable mentions.

15 Winners in a preliminary round
To celebrate the pillows 25th anniversary, we are announcing the ‘Cover and Dance Contest’ to be held and offered to the entire world!
The winner will be awarded an opportunity to mingle with the band members and be invited to the pillows 25th anniversary live show (Saturday, October 4th). Transportation expenses will be covered. Additionally, 10 finalists will have their submitted audio used on the CD, “the pillows UNOFFICIAL TRIBUTE ALBUM” (not for sale) and given to the band as a gift. It’s very easy to apply! Full-scale band covers will be accepted, but if you can’t play any instrument, you can still enter! Apply now!

10 finalists will be selected from the submitted videos based on the number of views (during the application period) and the quality of the performance. Submission requirements include:
* Applicant must be clearly identified in the video.
* For the cover category, the style and mode of performance is free, e.g., solo vocal, band, guitar/vocal, etc.
* For the cover category, you can choose any song from the pillows’ discography
* Applicants can only submit one video in each category. If you submit more than one video, your work won’t be considered for selection.

*10 finalists will be selected from the submitted videos based on the number of views (during the application period) and the quality of the performance. The result will be announced on the pillows YouTube channel、Nico Nico Douga cover contest page and the pillows official website.
・ From the 10 finalists, 1 best award in each category and member’s awards (3 works in total) judged and selected by the pillows members will be announced.
・ The winners are scheduled to be announced on Nico Nico Douga the pillows special on September 16th
PRIZE
The winner of the Best Award will be invited (2 tickets per winner will be provided) to the pillows 25th anniversary live show on Saturday, October 4th 2014 (in Tokyo, TOKYODOME CITY HALL) with transportation expenses provided. A Squier by Fender “SAWAO CYCLONE B/W」” guitar will be awarded as an additional prize.
The winner of the Best Submitter Award will be invited (2 tickets per winner will be provided) to the pillows 25th anniversary live on Saturday, October 4th 2014 (in Toyko,TOKYODOME CITY HALL) with transportation expenses provided. A Squier by Fender “SAWAO CYCLONE B/W」” guitar will be awarded as an additional prize.
Three Member’s Choice Award winners will be selected from the cover and dance categories. They will be invited (2 tickets per winner will be provided) to the pillows 25th anniversary live show on Saturday, October 4th 2014 ((in Toyko,TOKYODOME CITY HALL) with transportation expenses provided.
The audio of 10 finalists who passed the first screening in the cover category, will be used on the CD “the pillows UNOFFICIAL TRIBUTE ALBUM” (not for sale) and given as a prize.
If the number of qualified finalists is below expectations, the number of prizes awarded will be subject to change.
The transportation expense to the venue will be provided up to a maximum of 100,000Yen per group.
No matter how many people appear in the submitted video, only 2 people per group will be invited to the live performance.
